Yahoo Cagewriter – Brock Lesnar boasted in an ESPN interview that he was “the modern-day Bo Jackson” after announcing his return to the UFC after spending the past four years as a professional wrestler.

But the man he compared himself to isn’t at all familiar with Lesnar.

“I don’t even know who Brock Lesnar is, man, Jackson said when approached by TMZ.

The former NFL Pro Bowler and MLB All-Star was a superstar in the ’80s and ’90s when he was a dominant force in both sports. But when it comes to Lesnar, Jackson was clueless.

“I don’t watch [UFC and pro wrestling],” Jackson said. “If I didn’t make money in it, I don’t know nothing about it.”

This is exactly how I pictured Bo Jackson responding. Bo doesn’t like getting compared to other human beings…he is Bo Jackson, one of the greatest athletes to ever lace up a pair of cleats. He excelled in two professional sports and probably could have done anything he set his mind to. He knows who Brock Lesnar is and he absolutely watches professional wrestling/MMA. You can’t tell me a guy loaded with testosterone doesn’t watch violence (scripted or not). The problem is Bo was a super athlete. That means he has a crazy ego and tons of self-esteem (unlike my girlfriend…keep them low and they will never leave). Bo Jackson will never accept being compared to anybody ever…and he has earned that right. On a side note – I do not think Brock comes close to Bo in athletic accomplishments and should stop talking about it. Lesnar is a great athlete but he is no Bo Jackson.
