CM Punk vs. Mickey Gall On One Condition
Five Ounces of Pain – Mickey Gall got folks talking about him by calling out CM Punk on Dana White’s “Lookin for a Fight” show, and it looks like he’ll get his wish…well, maybe.
Gall made the call out while White was in attendance for a submission win he scored at a Dead Serious event in November. The UFC boss man relayed that he was interested in Gall’s proposition, and on the latest edition of TSN’s “On The Record”, White said this (quote via MMA Fighting.com):
“I’m bringing Mickey Gall in, and he’s going to fight a kid named Michael Jackson,” White said. “They’re going to fight on the prelims, on February 6th on Fight Pass, and if he wins that fight, Mickey Gall will fight CM Punk. And CM Punk will be there at the fight to watch.”
So there you go. White has reportedly also announced since that if Jackson wins, he will not advance to take on Punk.
There has been no firm timeline set for when Punk will make his UFC debut, but the former pro-wrestler is expected to make it sometime in the first half of 2016.
It looks like Mickey Gall will get the big ticket fight he was seeking…or fall flat on his face in his UFC debut and squander the opportunity to make a zillion dollars fighting CM Punk. Either way seems like a win win. Who am I trying to kid? Losing that opportunity would be worse than having Charlie Sheen blood. Mickey Gall would be known as the guy that could have fought CM Punk. He would wake up on his friends couch poor everyday wondering what it would be like to have a little money in the bank. I am not even going to address the fact he is fighting Michael Jackson. I mean, yeah I am. I wonder if this is the same Michael Jackson who was dubbed the king of pop. If it is, I would hate to burst Dana White’s bubble because that dude died in 2009. Somebody should watch the news. In all seriousness, the Mickey Gall vs. Michael Jackson fight has a good chance of being a THRILLER. Boom, another joke about the dead guy in your face. Don’t hate the playa, hate the game.
