Edmond Tarverdyan was a guest on “The MMA Hour” with Ariel Helwani yesterday and when he was asked about a Ronda Rousey comeback against Cris Cyborg, he stated the following:

“I don’t know,” he said. “I don’t know. We’ll live and we’ll see. If injuries weren’t there and everything was where it was, we would take that fight and I’m telling you she’s too slow for us. And Ronda will beat her. Ronda needs a challenge that she really needs to be like this person is no good and I need to prove something to the whole world. That’s how Ronda works good.

“And she didn’t have that with Holly, she’s the one that pushed and wanted some aggressiveness before the weigh-ins. This one she has it. She said she cheated before, she’s hurt women and she wants to come and beat her.”

Cyborg responded and it sounds like it is a no go at this point in her career. The champ said the following on an Instagram post:

I heard @rondarousey coach said on @mmafightingdotcom that he would like to see her return for one more fight…against me. I thought I would share my thoughts on this. If Ronda is going to return for only 1 more fight I think it should be against @mieshatate. When I wanted to fight her it was because she was at the top of her game and she had all of the confidence in the world. She had not been KO’d twice in a row and some people were actually saying she could beat Floyd Mayweather in a fight. I wanted the challenge so bad I almost killed myself trying to make the lowest weight possible just to give this fight to the fans, and she made every excuse for it not to happen. Both of us are now at different chapters in our careers and for me that chapter is finished. If Ronda is wanting to make the fight for the fans, I would still be willing to give them it, but I think it would be better to take place inside the @wwe ring. For her it gets her one step closer to Hollywood and for me it would be another exciting challenge and a chance to test my athletic ability. I also think this would be the best platform for Edmund as he is nothing but a joke of a coach! #ufc219 #CyborgVHolm ( ????????tradução está no comentário! Obrigada )

I guess I will never get to see these two tango in the octagon and it is probably a good thing since Ronda appears content away from the cage and maybe trying to get comfortable inside the squared circle.
