Yet another interesting addition to NXT made their debut last night at the Full Sail TV Tapings. Former Impact Wrestling stalwart Eric Young is now a part of WWE. All these recent additions make it clear that NXT is no longer a WWE Developmental program, but rather it’s own brand.

With the additions of veterans like Samoa Joe, Austin Aries, Tomasso Ciampa, Johnny Gargano and now. Eric Young, it’s going to be even harder for developmental talents to break through on NXT programming. I’m not saying this is a bad thing, just that it’s clear that WWE’s intent with NXT is going to be very different.

The winners will ultimately be the fans. In NXT, you’re now seeing the best of the WWE Developmental system combined with some of the best in the world, who previously never got an opportunity with WWE. I’m looking forward to what other Stars from around the world will ultimately come to NXT.
