Phil Brooks, also known by his WWE moniker as CM Punk, is set to make his big octagon return. With that in mind, BJJ phenom Neiman Gracie has now come forward with a critical statement on the professional wrestler turned fighter.

CM Punk made his big MMA debut inside the octagon, suffering a devastating first round submission loss to Mickey Gall. Since then, the former WWE star has received heavy criticism from fighters and fight fans alike for his performance.

Now Punk is set to take on Mike Jackson at UFC 225 in his hometown of Chicago, Illinois. The fight will go down June 9.

Speaking to media, as seen within the video below, BJJ phenom Neiman Gracie offered his thoughts on WWE star Brock Lesnar’s run inside the octagon and contrasted it to Phil Brooks’.

Lesnar is a former Division One NCAA wrestler, as well as a WWE star. The heavyweight would go on to become a UFC champion during his run inside the octagon.

Speaking on the matter, Gracie said:

“It was good for the sport. Brock Lesnar, instead of the other guys, he used to be a real wrestler. That is why he did good in the sport. The other guy, just plays around; the CM Punk guy. They are not real fighters. Brock was a fighter, so it was really good for the sport.”
