Gronk and WWE Would be a Perfect Marriage
Forbes – In a recent “Truth or Dare” video for Draft Kings, Gronkowski said it’s possible that you may see the ‘Madden 17′ cover guy in a WWE ring once his NFL career comes to a close. The comments shouldn’t come as a complete shock as Gronkowski is a known wrestling fan and is friends with NXT superstar Mojo Rawley, often times appearing in the crowd at events. But is Gronkowski seriously considering a venture into the squared circle once he hangs up his cleats?
Back in April, Gronkowski spoke to Fox Sports about his friend, Rawley, in NXT:
In the video for DraftKings, Gronkowski said he would consider a career in WWE in the future but likely not as a full-time gig. Gronkowski also noted that his ring-name would be “The Gronk” and said that Rawley inspires him to one day get in the ring and, at the very least, jump off the top rope.
It’s almost too perfect, New England Patriots Tight End Rob Gronkowski coming to WWE after his playing days are done. Gronk is a real life cartoon who also happens to be one of the best football players on the planet. He’s best buddies with Mojo Rawley of NXT, so the connection is already there. He’s obviously athletic enough. If this were the late 90s you’d probably already be seeing Gronk inside a pro wrestling ring (see Lawrence Taylor, Kevin Greene & Steve McMichael). Gronk is a man-child who was born to entertain, after football WWE would seem like a no-brainer.
