It would appear that the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) has finally landed a new opponent for one of UFC 219’s exciting bantamweight match ups.

Jimmie Rivera was initially set to face off against former UFC bantamweight champion Dominick Cruz at the event. However, Cruz has since been removed from the fight card due to a broken arm.

As reported by the Review Journal, John Lineker has now stepped up to face off against Jimmie Rivera on the night’s fight card.

UFC 219 goes down Dec. 30 inside the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. The main event for the night will be a featherweight title fight between reigning champion Cris Cyborg and former bantamweight champion Holly Holm.

UFC 219 will be available live on pay-per-view.
