Fox Sports – UFC television analyst Joe Rogan doesn’t seem too happy that former pro-wrestling star Phil “CM Punk” Brooks is set to become a UFC fighter. The commentator and comedian recently spoke about Brooks, on his podcast The Joe Rogan Experience, and expressed concern about a person with literally no combat sports competition experience like Brooks getting to make his debut in the big leagues of the UFC.

“I also think it’s ridiculous for him to fight in the UFC,” Rogan said (above).

“I think he should fight in a small organization. Take a fight in a small organization, build yourself up. I have always said that’s what should have happened with Brock Lesnar.”

I think everybody will agree with Rogan after we suffered through Bellator’s Kimbo Slice vs. Dada 5000 fiasco. As a fight fan it was embarrassing and hard to watch. I like the UFC because fighters don’t gas very often. When I watch the smaller promotions, people get tired quickly and technique becomes sloppy. You don’t want that to happen to CM Punk on the biggest stage. There is no way he will be the next Brock Lesnar because Brock was born a freak. You can’t teach size and athleticism. I am sure CM Punk is a hard worker but he is old and fighting guys that have been training since they could walk.
