Luke Rockhold vs. Chris Weidman 2 booked for UFC 199 in June
Fox Sports – Luke Rockhold will defend his middleweight title for the first time in June against the man he took the belt from as he meets Chris Weidman in a rematch at UFC 199.
UFC president Dana White made the announcement on “Garbage Time” with Katie Nolan on FS1 on Wednesday.
“June,” White said when asked about the date for Rockhold vs. Weidman 2. “UFC 199.”
Ronda Rousey will get her rematch with Holly Holm, Chris Weidman will get his rematch with Luke Rockhold but poor Jose Aldo may not get to fight Conor McGregor again. That is what I called getting screwed by the system. Jose was one of the most dominant champions ever but since he doesn’t rake in the bucks, he is ignored. Conor calls his own shots and he knows there are bigger draws so he is trying to maximize his earning potential. I can’t fault the business move. I am excited to see Weidman fight Rockhold again because it should be exciting but you do have some guys in the division that probably deserve it more. What are you going to do, move to Bellator? I don’t see that happening, right, Benson Henderson.
