MMAWeekly – A landmark champion vs. champion bout between UFC featherweight titleholder Conor McGregor and lightweight champ Rafael dos Anjos, as well as Holly Holm‘s first bantamweight title defense, against Miesha Tate, are reportedly going to headline a revamped UFC 197 on March 5 in Las Vegas.

News of the bouts and the event were first reported by Bleacher Report‘s Jeremy Botter and followed by MMAJunkie.com, which both cited multiple unnamed sources.

This will be a great event. You have two of the most popular fighters on the same card with Conor and Holly. I think they decided to put Holm on to help boost her name recognition in case she stomps Ronda again. The UFC needs a new cash queen and it looks like they are investing in Holm. Conor will keep the hype train rolling and if he can become champion in two divisions…look out world. If he loses, you still have great matchups with Edgar and Aldo at 145. UFC 197 looks like it is primed to do huge numbers…kind of like my scale.
