MMAJunkie – UFC women’s bantamweight champ Miesha Tate (18-5 MMA, 5-2 UFC) and Amanda Nunes (11-4 MMA, 4-1 UFC)had a tough act to follow against bitter rivals Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier, who sucked up most of the oxygen at today’s UFC 200 press conference with another verbal dustup.

But the ladies certainly gave it their best in hyping their upcoming title fight, which is third-billed on the July 9 pay-per-view event at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.

Tate boldly sketched out the plans for her immediate future, stating her first title defense is the preamble to a highly hyped rematch with her biggest rival, former champ Ronda Rousey.

“I told everybody I was going to beat Holly (Holm), and I did, and I’m meant to be here,” Tate said. “I’m going to beat Amanda on the 9th, and I’m going to go on and hopefully after that, we’ll see Ronda in Madison Square Garden. That would be great.”

It would almost seem appropriate if Miesha Tate gets her wish and meets Ronda at UFC 205…but the UFC will have the last vote on that one. Miesha and Ronda have been the only real feud in that division (since Ronda and Cyborg have never met in the octagon). Miesha has made the fights competitive and finally getting the shot at a W in New York would be a heck of a story to sell. If it makes money, they will make it happen. To me, the bigger fight is Holly Holm vs. Ronda Rousey but Dana White wants Rowdy to get an immediate title shot so it will probably be whoever is holding the belt.
