Shane McMahon “Tells All” on WWE Podcast with Mick Foley
If you were expecting an airing of dirty laundry you’re two things, delusional and disappointed. There was no way Shane McMahon was going to go on the WWE Network and get into every grimy detail over how he left or how he perhaps clashed with his Father, Sister and Brother-in-Law. If you were expecting a fun interview with cool stories about growing up in the WWE, then you’re extremely satisfied today.
If you’re a life long fan of WWE, you should have been glued to this interview. Not to take anything away from Mick Foley, but it would’ve been much better with “Stone Cold” Steve Austin. Austin’s personality and way of going at his guests a little would have been terrific in this setting. Perhaps that is exactly why WWE chose to have Foley do it instead.
I do believe that Shane McMahon was open and honest about everything he asked. He spoke of a tough relationship with his Father growing up and told cool stories about being backstage as a kid and teenager. He talked about what lead to him actually getting in the ring, even though he was the air to the thrown. This interview is definitely worth a watch or listen. It’s not as provocative as WWE’s commercials for it would have lead you to believe, but then again, did anyone really expect that? What it is though, is a fun look at what it was like to be around WWE and the pro wrestling business from birth.
