Evangelista Cyborg Santos Bellator Michael Page Fractured Skull

Oh crap, you thought I was referring to a car. No, this is what happened to Evangelista ‘Cyborg’ Santos when he fought Michael Page at Bellator 158 this past weekend. MVP landed a flying knee putting an end to Cyborgs’ night and putting a hole where his forehead used to be. I can’t remember a more horrific injury in the sport (excluding fighter deaths) and if it sounds like I am making light of the subject that is not my intent. It sounds like Cyborg is doing better because in an interview with TMZ, Santos’ ex-wife Cris Cyborg said “I spoke with him yesterday. He no have any problems. He talks normal and he feels the pain a little bit but he’s got medicine and they give him pills and he’s okay. He’s okay. Just you can see his head is not okay but he’s so funny because he says, “aw I can fight in three months!” I said, “no man, you cannot fight in three months!”

I always say how fighters are underpaid and it takes events like this to really drive home that point. Thankfully, Bellator President Scott Coker said they will be covering all of Santos’ medical bills and will be paying his win bonus to help with his time off. Cris Justino set up a GoFundMe page to help cover his expenses as well so if you are able to help please click HERE
