TMZ Sports – Jon Jones’ wish to fight UFC heavyweight champ Stipe Miocic may come true … ’cause Stipe says he’s absolutely down … as soon as his body heals up.

Miocic joined the guys on the “TMZ Sports” TV show (airs Monday night on FS1) — and was asked how he felt about Jon essentially calling him out on social media.

FYI, Jon tweeted after Stipe beat Alistair Overeem at UFC 203 … “I’m starting to realize the hype is real with that guy. He’s legit, it would be the challenge of a lifetime.”

Stipe heard the challenge — but didn’t respond with the vitriol of Daniel Cormier. Instead, he praised Jones … and essentially welcomed Dana White to make it happen.

There’s A LOT more in the full interview, which airs tonight on FS1.

This is a fight I would love to see. Stipe is a big, strong, technical striker that could knock the head off of Jon Jones shoulders (it’s going, going, gone). But Jon’s creativity and athleticism could give Miocic problems and lead to a long night. I kind of take what Jon is saying as a slight to the heavyweight champion. I don’t think he believes in the skills Stipe brings to the table and it could be an eye opener (or closer, if he connects with one of those straight rights) if the fight were to occur. I say we offer ‘Bones’ Overeem first, just so we can see him duck that fight. You can watch part of TMZ’s interview below.
