Georges St-Pierre, Cain Velasquez, T.J. Dillashaw, Donald Cerrone, Tim Kennedy and former Bellator CEO Bjorn Rebney announced the formation of the MMA Athletes Association. The newly formed group is aiming to take on the UFC to try and get a 50 percent share of revenue, a collective bargaining agreement with a benefits package comparable to other major sporting leagues and a “settlement” to current and former UFC fighters to compensate for lost income. This organization is going to be run by fighters with Rebney acting in an advisory role.

If I were the new owners of the UFC I would be looking through my laundry eagerly trying to find the receipt I left in my pants pocket; that way I could take it back to the store for a refund. There is no way I would give up a 50 percent revenue share this early into my tenure. If all else fails, just text the Fertitta’s and say “about the sale…J/K, LOL”. That should work.
