Well, the WWE Draft has now come and gone and I can’t help but feel slightly underwhelmed. Don’t get me wrong, it was an entertaining night. I just somehow was expecting more. Some crazy twist, some off the wall pick, some sort of shocking surprise. RAW is definitely loaded and without a doubt, still the flagship show of WWE. For all the talk of SmackDown Live being the land of opportunity, John Cena, Randy Orton and Kane are all there. We did see six NXT Superstars come to the Main Roster, although a very different six than we were anticipating. Obviously WWE wanted to still leave NXT a viable brand, but how do Bayley, Shinsuke Nakamura and Samoa Joe not come to the main roster over Mojo Rawley, Carmella and Alexa Bliss. Also as expected you have John Cena on one brand and Roman Reigns on the other, albeit under slightly different circumstances than originally thought. It’s hard to fully criticize because we are just in the infancy of this brand split and I’m sure there are many twists and turns to come. I’m in full wait and see mode as of now though.
